Kingsley Durant is known for the wide-ranging scope of his guitar playing, from solo acoustic, as on his 2003 CD, Away From the Water (Alchemy Records), to modern jazz with the Kingsley Durant Trio, to straight-up vintage pop, R&B, and rock, with bands such as Identity Crisis, The No. 2 Pencils, Fine Vinyl, and The Boston Hot Stove All-Stars. He released a new CD in 2020, Point of Reference, which showcases the electric side of his playing and composing, with a band that includes Steve Hunt (Allan Holdsworth; Stanley Clarke; Billy Cobham), Baron Browne (Jean-Luc Ponty; Steve Smith’s Vital Information), and Vinny Sabatino.
